RESEARCH APPROACH

The SED research group aims to deepen our understanding of soil transformations and processes, as well as explore the intricate relationship between plants, soil, and the atmosphere. We are particularly focused on harnessing the potential of both natural and managed ecosystems to combat climate change through activities such as carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas mitigation, and enhancing the long-term resilience of food and soil systems. Our field research spans across temperate and northern regions of Canada, as well as areas in Latin America and Africa.
